Hello, my darlings. I thought I would take some time this evening to tell y’all about the brand new forums I’ve created!

At forum.anneisfiction.com you can register and then talk all you want about fanfiction, writing, books, etc. It’s a phpBB setup, if you care. And it’s kind of empty over there, so go and play!

In other news, I’m sorry for the lack of fanfic updates lately. I got off of school, and then I had orientation at my new school, and I’ve mostly been vegging out and watching sad martial arts movies (House of Flying Daggers, anyone?). But all that’s gonna change! I’m going to get some work done if it kills me.

So I better get busy. Of course, forum posts and comments will harden my determination…if you know what I mean.

Since my fic Learning a Lesson has done soooo well, I figure I might as well post an excerpt from a Covenant one-shot I’m currently revising. It hasn’t got a name yet (I hate making up names) but that’s okay, because I love it. It’s first-person from Reid’s POV, and if he sounds OOC, it’s because he’s older (the story takes place some ten years after the movie). So, if you’ve got an opinion…you know what to do.

Tyler sighed. “Look man, I didn’t want any of that to happen. I tried to stop it, but I couldn’t, alright? And it’s too late now.”

I swallowed my anger, pushing it away. I wasn’t going to let this get to me. “You’re right. It is too late.”

Tyler looked away, red coloring his cheeks. After a moment, he spoke again. “Why didn’t you call? Or write, or do anything to let us know you were alive?”

I shrugged. “Wouldn’t have made any difference. You just would have asked me to come back, and I wasn’t going to.”

“Why not?” Tyler’s voice was challenging, angry.

“Because I couldn’t look at you, any of you, without remembering what it was like to choke on my own blood.” I watched him flinch, and a part of me smiled.

Comments would be highly appreciated. This is just a little snippet, and the entire thing is just over three pages. I should post the entire thing on ff.net later this week.
